New Features, Updates, and the Like

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

We've made a number of updates for this upcoming football fantasy postseason.

  • Auction drafts - a new way to draft postseason players via a live bidding process.
  • Team Kickers - in addition to team quarterbacks and team defense and special teams, we have added team kickers as an optional roster position configuration.
  • Per Round Salary Cap - we've added a new setting "Require Managers to Select New Team Each Round" for per round salary cap games. After each round, rosters will automatically be cleared and managers will need to pick new players.
  • DST - we have renamed the DEF roster position slot to DST. Nothing changes in terms of defensive and special teams scoring.
  • Abbreviations - we've created a helpful guide to assist with acronyms used by Fantasy Postseason.
  • Cookie Policy Acceptance - users will be prompted to accept our site's cookie policy.

We have deprecated support of Silent Drafts - but note that a similar...

We've wrapped up another summer of new features and enhancements at FantasyPostseason.com.

  • Commissioner Options:  Added the ability to assign a co-commissioner.  Added an 'End Draft' option to terminate a draft quickly.  Added an option to clear the draft order.  Added 'Update Player Pool' option.  Added a league option to prevent managers from sending emails.  Changed the 'Exclude Players' sort to Team/Player.  Added Yardage Allowed and Missed Field Goal scoring options for NFL.  Added GIDP for MLB.

Share Email Addresses

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

Over the years, we've received a number of requests from commissioners to be able to view email addresses from users in their leagues.  Due to our privacy policy, we've avoided providing direct access - however, we did create custom league pages where new users were warned that joining that league would expose their email address to the commissioner (and they could choose to either join the league or not).

To simplify the process, we've added a new league setting called 'Require Managers To Share Email Addresses' that commissioners can set to 'Yes' when they create their league.  Once set, potential league members will be prompted with the following warning:  'The commissioner for this league requires that they can see the email address associated with each league member. Please confirm that you still want to join this league?'.  At that time, users can choose to 'Join' or 'Leave' the league.

Salary Cap Improvements

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

Following a number of user requests, we've enhanced our salary cap add/drop process by adding a shadow interface where players can be added and dropped without impacting moves.  As changes are made, a running total of 'Pending Moves' (player adds) is shown, along with a warning that pending changes must be saved.  Once player changes are made that fit under the salary cap and contain your desired players, select the 'Save' button - only then will new player additions count against your total number of moves.  If you wish to cancel all player changes, select the 'Discard' button (no moves will be counted).

Please note the following:
- This change will only be made available for salary cap leagues that limit the number of free agent moves and allow unlimited player selection.
- This change will be made active starting with the college basketball tournament in March.

2018 Summer Development Done: New Features!

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

We've wrapped up another summer of new features and enhancements at FantasyPostseason.com.

Here's a list of the updates and new features:

  • Box Pools: This newly added format involves grouping similar players into boxes. Managers select one player from each box to build their fantasy team.  This simple pool type is great for all skill levels.
  • Slow Drafts: Can't agree on a live draft time for your buddies? This approach allows you to engage in a live draft without a timer over several hours or days.
  • Draft Room Enhancements: We've redesigned visual aspects of the draft room and have also added a number of minor features including Auto Pick support, and a Draft Board.
  • Team QBs: We've included the option to add Team QBs to your NFL postseason fantasy football player pool, instead of having individual QBs.
  • NFL Start Once Usability: We've made it easier to identify players to start in the Start Once format by hiding players that are on bye...

We have added a number of new features this summer, with more on the way:

Responsive Design = No More Mobile App

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

Over the last year we invested in the re-design of the UI (user interface) of our website. We've leveraged several Javascript libraries (such as Twitter Bootstrap) and HTML5 to build a responsive website that works on any new browser (including those available on mobile devices). All of the functionality previously available in the app is now available via your device's browser (Chrome, Safari, etc). In fact, with this new approach, as we add new features to FantasyPostseason.com, the features are immediately available to all devices.

At present, we have no plans to further support any platform specific (e.g. iOS or Android) apps.

Playoff Fantasy Football Registration

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

We've opened up registration for our 2016-2017 playoff fantasy football leagues.

A number of new features have been added since last year including the following:

  • New Responsive User Interface Design - Our new UI is cleaner, more usable, and device independent.
  • Limiting the # of Players from Each Team -  Commissioners can now limit the number of players from each playoff team. This prevents managers from "loading up" or going all in on one or two particular teams.
  • Requiring 1 for 1 Free Agency Transactions - This configuration option requires that free agent player swaps are one for one. This is particularly useful if you are in a Salary Cap league and you want to prevent players from dropping 2 less expensive players to pick up 1 more expensive player.
  • Allowance for Late Joins - Commissioners can now allow managers to join after a league has been activated.
  • Creating Proxy Teams - Commissioners can create teams on behalf of other owners....

New Features To Go Along With New UI

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

In addition to updating our user interface to be compatible with all devices, we have added a number of new features this summer.  Here's the run down.

  • Longer Preservation of Previous Year's Leagues - We will now keep league history around for 2 years. You can study the prior year's rosters and player performance to gain a leg up on your competition.
  • Improved Usability for Pick One Daily Leagues - We have a special...

Pick One Daily

     Fantasy Postseason Staff

After a few requests to accommodate a format similar to the popular 'Drive to the Finals' NBA Playoffs fantasy game, we've added a new league format named 'Pick One Daily' (currently for NBA, NHL, and MLB leagues only).  Main concepts:

  • There is no draft.
  • Scoring options are configurable (i.e. points, rebounds, assists).
  • Commissioners should activate the league only after all managers have joined.
  • Teams consist of only one player.  Note: Bench slots can be added to allow for lineup setting for days in advance.
  • Once the league is activated, managers need to add one player to their team on each game day via free agency.
  • Players can only be used once.  Once used, that player must be replaced with another one to generate additional scoring.
